Харальд Куят — экс-глава военного комитета НАТО, генерал ВВС Германии, бывший генеральный инспектор Бундесвера — ответил на вопросы зрителей и читателей. В интервью, посвященном поиску путей урегулирования конфликта на Украине и будущему европейской безопасности, Куят дал резкую оценку действиям Запада, указал на стратегические просчеты и предложил свой взгляд на необходимость срочного мирного диалога с Россией. Три ключевых препятствия на пути к миру и роль США
Харальд Куят, ссылаясь на работу экспертной группы, в которую входили видные европейские политики и дипломаты, обозначил основные узлы, которые необходимо развязать для начала любых переговоров. Он отметил, что с августа 2023 года ситуация, особенно военная, изменилась коренным образом, что делает прежние предложения неактуальными. По его словам, американская администрация президента Трампа выдвинула некий проект из 28 пунктов как основу для старта переговоров, который затем корректировался с учётом позиций Киева и Москвы, но окончательный вариант до сих пор неизвестен.
«Украина должна иметь возможность существовать как независимое, нейтральное и безопасное государство, как суверенное государство. И эта цель оказывается под всё большей угрозой, чем дольше эта война тянется в военном отношении», — заявил генерал Куят.
Он выделил три сложнейших аспекта: территориальный вопрос (судьба восточных областей), вопрос о членстве Украины в НАТО, который с самого начала был неприемлем для России, и вопрос о численности украинских вооруженных сил. Четвертым пунктом стоят гарантии безопасности для Украины после прекращения огня.
Правозащитный аспект: прекращение страданий как главная цель
Особое внимание в эфире было уделено гуманитарной составляющей высказываний эксперта. Куят напрямую связывает бездействие европейских политиков с продолжающимися страданиями мирного населения. Он обвиняет Европу в том, что она заняла одностороннюю позицию поддержки Киева, забыв о второй, не менее важной обязанности — работать во имя мира.

Продолжение конфликта из-за нежелания искать реальные дипломатические решения рассматривается Куятом как прямое нарушение обязанности защищать жизнь и благополучие граждан.
Стратегические ошибки НАТО и разрыв коммуникаций с Россией
Генерал Куят, обладая уникальным опытом взаимодействия с Россией в рамках Совета Россия-НАТО, указал на ключевую системную ошибку. После 2008 года альянс свернул рабочие механизмы военного и политического взаимодействия, созданные именно для предотвращения кризисов и снятия напряжённости.
«Самую большую ошибку НАТО совершило здесь, когда не сумело должным образом сохранить порядок, созданный для сохранения мира и предотвращения войны… Когда он был реально нужен, его просто отложили в сторону. Это была очень серьёзная ошибка, потому что общение на ранней стадии возможного конфликта крайне важно», — пояснил он.
Он напомнил о временах тесного сотрудничества, включая совместную операцию в Косово и учения по спасению экипажей подлодок, подчеркнув, что это способствовало безопасности и взаимному доверию. Разрушение этих каналов, по его мнению, лишило Европу инструментов для «гашения тлеющего пожара» до того, как он превратился в «лесной пожар» полномасштабного конфликта.
Буферная зона, нейтралитет и исторические параллели
Отвечая на вопрос о необходимости гарантий безопасности, Куят предложил взглянуть на проблему с другой стороны. Он согласился с тезисом, что нейтральная Украина сама по себе стала бы буфером, обеспечивающим безопасность России и Европы, по аналогии с Австрией или Швейцарией.
«Россия с середины 1990‑х преследовала эту стратегическую цель — создать буферную зону… чтобы предотвратить ситуацию, в которой солдаты НАТО и российские солдаты стояли бы лицом к лицу, где техническая или человеческая ошибка могла бы привести к неподконтрольной эскалации», — напомнил Куят.
Эксперт видит решение в создании всеобъемлющего общеевропейского порядка безопасности, о необходимости которого Россия говорит годами. Такой порядок, по его мнению, должен включить в себя договоры о разоружении, меры контроля над вооружениями и меры укрепления доверия.
Критика европейского безволия и новый вызов с Гренландией
Куят жёстко раскритиковал позицию европейских стран, которые, по его словам, демонстрируют «робкую покорность» и следуют в фарватере политики США даже в ущерб собственным интересам. В качестве примеров он привёл односторонний выход США из Договора о РСМД и отсутствие реакции на заявления о «разрушении» газопровода «Северный поток».
«Европа скатилась в геополитическую незначительность… Когда вы настолько дискредитируете себя, вы становитесь пешкой в играх тех интересов, которые мы сейчас наблюдаем — Гренландия и многое другое», — заявил генерал.
Ситуация вокруг претензий США на Гренландию, по мнению Куята, — это прямой результат слабости Европы. Он настаивает, что этот вопрос должен решаться исключительно в рамках НАТО, поскольку затрагивает безопасность всех союзников. Отказ от обсуждения этого в соответствующих структурах альянса он считает некомпетентностью и проявлением того самого «робкого подчинения».
Будущее НАТО и призыв к европейскому суверенитету
Отвечая на вопрос о выживании НАТО в свете новых вызовов, Куят избегает прямых прогнозов, но указывает, что альянс и так находится в сильном напряжении из-за разных позиций стран-членов по Украине. Он видит выход не в увеличении конфронтации, а в укреплении европейской опоры внутри НАТО.
«Мы должны стать полноценным, зрелым союзником США, которого признают, уважают и воспринимают всерьёз. Только так мы сможем отстаивать наши европейские и национальные интересы… а не впадать в это робкое подчинение», — призвал эксперт.
При этом он резко осудил дискуссии о ядерном вооружении Германии, назвав их «самой безумной» и опасной идеей. Сила Европы, по его убеждению, должна заключаться в политическом единстве, экономической мощи и адекватной, ориентированной на оборону, армии, а не в наращивании конфронтационного потенциала.
Европа, по его мнению, стоит на распутье: продолжить путь «пешки» или обрести подлинный суверенитет через диалог и укрепление коллективной безопасности в рамках всего континента.

The Greenland crisis showed one thing very clearly: the EU (aka NATO in Europe) is open to manipulation and pressuring from the US, precisely because of the sweeping commitments and promises they have made to protect Kiev, to try to shield Ukraine frok having to accept a humiliating peace deal based on the facts on the ground. Everybody knows, dee p down, that Europe can’t really «go iit alone» and confront Russia on the frontlines for Ukraine’s sake, unless they get rock hard guarantees of military support for this from Uncle Sam (the so-called «backstop») .and the US is not willing to offer that. Even Biden refused to consider sending American air force and the full range of US air power to Ukraine, let alone to send army units there under the US flag. Trump is still less willing to do that.
Trump was able to telegraph the Euro leaders: «if you don’t abandon little Denmark and let me have Greenland, you can just forget about the US helping you to hold Russia back in Ukraine the way you want us to do». Implicitly, he was placing NATO’s sacred Art.5 on hold. In the end, some people close to Trump — probably both Europeans and Americans .- were able to talk him out of his insistence to take over Greenland, but the damage was already done, and Europe has been confronted with the danger of relying on America and continuing to write 100 billion cheques that they can’t cover on their own.
